Blending CVC words - video!!!

This is the pic I posted on the blog and Instagram during the week. It has inspired me to make this video of how we used it (with my own kids)



I did it! Here is a video of using the magnetic counters and wands to blend CVC cards.

    I really liked the video and looks like a great activity to use with my preppies who are working on cvc at the moment! Would love to have a copy!

    Awesome video! I've got the wands and the counters, but I haven't used them with my kids yet - they're going to love it!!

    I think they would be a fabulous learning tool in the classroom and a wonderful activity I could incorporate into my literacy rotations

    I saw your post about it yesterday and ran to put them on my wish list. I'd love to win these cards! Such a great way to segment cvc words and I already have magnetic wands and chips, but haven't used them in a long time!

    I love the idea of using the magnetic wand with the chips. I hadn't seen that before. I would LOVE to win this. I could use this right off the bat to help my first graders learn to put together the sounds quickly in my guided reading groups. I thought this was an awesome activity.

    I would love to be able to win this. I tutor a student that is working on this very skill. I think he would enjoy a different spin on segmenting words. It is a great visual also. Love the video. It explains the concept very well.

    My kiddo's absolutely love anything they can use an expo marker on. Now if I can get my hands on the wands and the magnetic chips it will just add another level of depth to my CCSS teaching! Love that you are helping us all their one great activity at a time! Thank you.

    Hey Brooke,

    What a fantastic video. I've just started tutoring a couple of girls in PP and Year 1 and we'll be starting right at the beginning with CVC words. They had very poor skills of blending and segmenting and especially phoneme manipulation. I think these cards would be great for practising these skills, so I'd love to win the pack.
