My classroom cupboard shame...

I am lucky enough at school to have a HUGE storage cupboard. Now we all know what teachers are like - classic hoarders. We keep lots of 'stuff', thinking that we will find a use for it. I definitely do this.

But occasionally, my stuff gets me down a bit. Every time I open the cupboard, I want to shut it again very very quickly. So I thought to myself, it was time to get it a bit more organised and put my 'stuff' to better use.

My school holidays project (we have the next 2 weeks off) is to reorganise and CULL!! Thats right - chuck stuff out. Here are some pictures of my shame...
At one point I did try to organise my stuff, hence the black and white boxes that contain my maths groups stuff by strand. But the rest as you can see, is just horrible!

It is so messy that I can't even find a spot for my MAB stuff and it is taking a big chunk of floor space. It doesn't help that I have all my Year 5/6 stuff in here too, even though I teach Year 2!

My floor :( I know you are probably wondering about the thing of apples. We have a fruit break in our class every morning and rather than forget, I just leave fruit at school :)

So stay tuned for a hopefully, more tidy, organised storeroom in the near future!
And hopefully I am not the only one with a secret storeroom shame lol.

  1. Wow, you sure do have your work cut out for you! I wish I had your problem though because that would mean I'd have a storeroom - you lucky duck! :D I have a hard time keeping my class organised because I've only got a couple of open low bookshelves. How I'd love to be able to hide stuff away in a cupboard! Can't wait to see the 'after' photos!

  2. Looking forward to seeing how it looks when it's organised. :o) I suspect that you will be doing quite a bit of shopping for some storage items.

  3. Well that is a holiday project! Hopefully you can conquer this in the 2 weeks and go back for Term 4 totally organised...

  4. Your storage cupboard shame is my home office shame and unfortunately also my storage room shame at school. I cannot get motivated to go through 13 years of teacher "hoarding" to clear it out! Maybe I will take some before photos in the hope that like you, these are the holidays I will clear it up! Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. That closet/cupboard is dreamy...even in it's current state. My craft room/office at home looks very similar. It's on "the list" but probably won't get taken care of until winter break. Can't wait to see your finished pictures!

  6. First of all let me tell you that I wish I had that cupboard in my classroom!
And now I can say that you are not the most organized teacher, but I am sure that you are not the worst. I am not brave enough to post my photos. :)
I'll come back to see the after photos! Have fun organizing!
