Alphabet Flippy Books

Happy New Year!!! I had such a mixed 2013....started off fantastic...took a turn for the worse in April...then started to build again in September. I figure 2014 has to be good!

I just wanted to share my newest creation with you! I am excited about this one!

The best thing about these little books is there is no cutting or gluing! Just folding!

On the front, students write their name and colour the pics.
The inside pages are a chance for students to practice their letter formation. First they trace on top of the letters, then channel the letters in the guidelines and finally, write their own.
This is for both upper and lower case - Miss M wanted to do the capitals first!

On the back page, students need to colour the pictures that begin with that letter.

And finally they need to identify and circle the letter focus.
These could be kept together and made into a fun booklet and way to revise letters!

Click the image to go to Google Docs to try them out for yourself!

Look for Number Flippy books next.

Want one of these? Tell me how you would use it in the classroom!. I will pick 2 people so dont forget your email address! (Winners to be chosen in 24 hours)

13 in 13 Linky party!

Trackies (or sweats if thats what you fancy). I love wearing them, they make me feel comfy! I am also loving maxi dresses which are probably more weather appropriate as we are in Summer now.
I really loved this franchise and it makes me all the more sad about Paul Walkers death :(
I also loved Monsters University and all the threads to the original.
Hands down legend----wait for it -----dary!
I don't really eat out much but I love Chinese and Thai.
Kindergarten! I started the year so scared and anxious that I wouldnt be able to do it and I think I surprised a lot of people, including myself.
I honestly dont remember!

It wasn't what I pinned but my kids. Both my children now have a pinterest board in my account and pin to it sometimes. Madison is all about My Little Pony and Princesses and Cameron is all about Batman.
Always be Batman.
Any post that I actually get out is a good place to start! It is so easy to get sidetracked and not come here.
My little girl started Kindergarten this year and I am proud to say we made it! My son starts next year so it all begins again. But my kids are my greatest accomplishment and I am so proud of them. Which leads me to...

This year we lost a member of the family so maybe this isnt a 'favourite' but I often think of her.
Personally it is to build a house with hubs. Professionally it is to do a better job in Kinder than this year. TPT wise I would love to improve my store and keep producing resources that are easy to use.
Believe.

Thanks so much for your friendship and encouragement this year. Here is to an even better 2014! Cheers!

Five for Friday!

Its been one of those weeks! With only 2 weeks left of school to go, I am starting to feel happy and sad all at once. My first group of Kinders ever - nearly big Year 1 kids. My own daughter, nearly finished Kinder! Its been a massive year of firsts for me!

1. I got my Christmas shop on with this awesome delivery of Scentsy! And some of it may have been for me too!

2. The kids decorated the tree BY THEMSELVES with no help except the star. Its the best tree I have ever had :)

3. Yuck but done

4. I have my very first class elf, named Elfie. The kids are lapping it up. Here he is on his first day -

And later in the week.
After we planted the TicTacs in the garden, we brainstormed what might grow and then the kids drew and labeled their ideas.

5. My week finished with the little man graduating from preschool. I cannot believe he is ready for Kindergarten. hugs your babies tight - they grow way too fast.

Dunk It!

I wanted to give you a little peek at my newest creation. Its not something that most of my Kinders need at this time of year (although a few would benefit) but I made it mainly for next year :)

My little Miss M is nearly finished Kindergarten but still asked me if she could be the tester. I think she was worried I would give her job away!
The idea of the game is to match upper case with lower case. In the pack, there are 2 levels of difficulty. Let me show you.

Here are the upper case milks. You use these for both games.

These are the set 1 cards. All cookies have lower case letters in a very easy to read font.

Simply match the upper case and lower case. You can choose any combination of letters that you like so you can tailor it to your students and what they are learning.

These cookies are the level 2 set. Each letter has 6 lower case letters to match to the upper case. The added difficulty is that each letter is a different font so that your students can learn to identify letters even though they appear differently.

Again, you just choose the letters you would like to focus on to tailor to your needs.

The last part is for consolidating learning or could be used as an assessment task. There are a range of different recording sheets where students need to write the matching lower case to the upper case displayed. I have even included a blank version for you to write your own upper case in so it can be matched to your students.
I am loving her neat writing!

So there it is! I have it on sale in my TPT store right now! Click any pic to go and grab it
